In 1972, Grandaddy Kenneth, accompanied by his son, acquired their first hive from a small farm near Mount Olive, North Carolina, where the owner wanted the bees removed from a wooden shed. After enduring around 100 stings and chasing after his son, who had bolted down the road due to the upset bees, the family business was born. This venture flourished in Dayton, Tennessee, where Grandaddy Kenneth earned the local nickname "The Bee Man," responding to calls for swarm captures and bee removals from homes. His son, Christopher, later founded a honey business in called Bubba's Sweet Nectar, which serves southern states alongside his son, Christian. Although Grandaddy Kenneth passed away in February 2025, his honey legacy will continue as we feature his products on our site and honor his customers under Kenneth Keith Honey.
ABOUT KEITH FAMILY HONEY
Christopher, a second-generation honey producer, and his son Christian established Bubba's Sweet Nectar in Virginia, serving customers throughout the state and its border states. Together with Chris's sister Christy, they also operate Jackson Family Honey in North Carolina. Following the passing of Grandaddy Kenneth, they united with his legacy business to form Keith Family Honey in Tennessee, emphasizing family collaboration to provide high-quality honey as a natural alternative to processed sugars. Based in the Walden's Ridge community of Rhea County, Tennessee, they have their processing facility and offer a self-serve store right on the farm along Dayton Mountain Highway.
